Fun scramble to end the day  Sucess!

Then did a loop down to Tenaya lake from the outlet of the lower Cathedral Lake (easy if water is very low).

Rad, easy class 3 climb  Sucess!

Did this as a quick side trip on day 3 of a JMT thru hike that included lots of extra peaks. Super fun and only took me 30 minutes. Great views into Yosemite and very worth it if you're in the area.

From Tenaya  Sucess!

I've wanted to climb this little pillar ever since I first saw it off the Muir Trail back in '08. I agree with several others on this log that it seems more difficult than class 3 in some places.

From Tenaya  Sucess!

Quick side trip after Tenaya Peak. Cool looking summit.

Nice little scramble  Sucess!

Short, easy scramble. I would call it Class 4+, but there are plenty of solid holds and very little exposure from move to move. Easiest day of six straight very full days. Did it along with Tresidder (successful north summit, partial south summit).

Great scramble  Sucess!

Did after Echo Peaks 1-3. In my opinion this is a class 4 climb with some exposure. Lots of fun.

iced out

Was hoping for one last day of climbing from Tuol. Meadows--to no avail. Snow and ice from a recent storm clung to the summit block. Tried every which way, but ice was treacherous and I was solo. Next year I guess!

3rd class  Sucess!

Went up the 3rd class from the back. Found it still spicy.

From Tresidder  Sucess!

Cool overhanging summit block, not too hard to climb, with good views of Matthes, Cathedral, and Echo. A fun climb.

North Ridge  Sucess!

Came up the usual third class route. Fun scramble and a nice half-day hike.

Clouds building, could see rain off in the distance. Thunder clapped as I scrambled off the summit. Hightailed it back to the trailhead ..

From Tresidder  Sucess!

Climbed with Tresidder and Tenaya. The class 3 route seemed a littler underrated, but not really hard. Maybe I just didn't see the easiest line to the top. A worthwhile addition to bagging Tresidder.

standard route  Sucess!

Nice and easy end of the day, last peak on our Tenaya/Tressider/CF traverse. Returned to the car via Tenaya. I hate mosquitos...

Route Climbed: Northwest side Date Climbed: Sep 23, 2005  Sucess!

Traversed there from Tresidder Peak, before heading over to Echo Peaks. Seemed a bit spicier than class 3. Worthwhile little scramble and part of a thoroughly fun day.

Route Climbed: North Ridge/West Side of Summit Date Climbed: 09/30/05  Sucess!

Small and cool summit with nice views. An interesting scramble with good exposure, but I must have missed the "class 3" route. It seemed more like class 4 in a couple of places.

Route Climbed: I wouldn't call it 3rd class, but the easy route. Date Climbed: June 26th, 2005  Sucess!

Still tons of snow coming from the Cathedral/ John Muir trail head. No trail for most of the way and hiking through sun cups for a majority of it. Beautiful cloudy sunset and a great view of Long Meadow full of snow going into Sunrise High Sierra Camp. Supposed to work there again this summer, but due to all the snow we hiked in, the camps didn't open this year.

I used to climb this "peak" regularly while working two Summers (1971-1972) as manager at Sunrise High Sierra Camp...Climbed on a return trip in August 1978 as well
