Alone on Coma Pedrosa  Sucess!

Was completely alone on this beautiful mountain, did not meet a single other person the entire day. Managed to reach the top and do the loop without any climbing gear apart from a pair of B2 boots. Was easy enough on the way up, some VERY dodgy moments on the way down. Definitely recommend crampons & ice axe!

Estany Negre

The summit proved to be a little bit too high for my shape, but nevertheless I reached the Estany Negre from Arinsal. A nice hot day with some stormy weather threatening in the background.

peak-bagging  Sucess!

First day in Andorra and perfect weather. Started from Arinsal, hiked to ref. Coma Pedrosa and the turned southwest to the boundary with Spain. Followed the ridge (easy scrambling) across Pic de Sanfons and Agulla de Baiau before climbing Pedrosa. Scrambled to Pic de Baiau before taking the valley north of Pedrosa back to Arinsal. 7.5 hours.

wonderful hike  Sucess!

Very fine hike in one day from Arinsal. Many good and not too expensive hôtels there. Practically no snow during the climb (only 15 m), we took the ridge right to the first lake. There are several false summits until reaching the main top.

Wondrful view from there on the eastern part of Pyrenees (Estats for example) and Aneto.

Half day out  Sucess!

Arrived to Barcelona prior day at midnight. Camped near the lot. Started in the morning, took about 3h15m to the top. Still a nice snow field around the lake. From the top had expansive views to Aneto which is my target next week. Came down more directly and bushwhacked around the large waterfall. Passed many crowds as I neared the road.

Nice route and peak  Sucess!

It was a nice day climbing from Arinsal. The snow covered the access to estany negre but the ridge was clean with a wide landscape.

Getting to Know Andorra  Sucess!

I've spent a lot of time in Andorra, but only done Pedrosa once. It was a fun day out in good weather with a small group of punters (clients). My partner was guiding that day, so no chance of getting lost. We came down the pedrera - a new experience for some of the group. There was quite a bit of snow still around the lake.

just fog!  Sucess!

After finished the GRP with wonderful clear days, our last destination on Andorra was Coma Pedrosa, beautiful paths and nice hike but on the summit nothing to see more that fog. Anyway was great!

A gorgeous alpine loop  Sucess!

A gorgeous loop around the entire drainage basin, as I climbed to the wrong side of the basin in the pre-dawn hours and then decided to continue around the ridge. Well worth loop. 7 hours.
