Looper
Standard loop from Alvarado TH. Up Comanche, over Spring, to Venable. On my first trip to Colorado in the 1990s, I hiked to Comanche Lake. I've been meaning to do it again and complete this loop for quite a long time. Finally did it!
Up Venable, down Comanche. Hadn't planned to tag 13-ers, but this was too close, too tempting

In exchange for planning/leading a backpacking trip to Comanche Lake, I took the ladies up Comanche Peak and Spring Mountain. This area is absolutely beautiful. With Elissa & Laraine.

The Loop
Approached via Venable Creek. I climbed Pt 12,873 directly from Venable Lakes. I then ran the ridge over to Venable, Spring and then to Comanche. I descended Comanche Creek. Snow was not a problem and Venable Creek was the hightlight of the day.

Loop from West
Loop climb from North Crestone TH, up Comanche traverse over Spring to Venable, back down to our camp near the base of the Comanche Trail. Very little visibility most of the day, then the clouds started to break on descent of Spring just in time to be "wowed" by the view of Phantom Terrace! Climbed with Scot and Colin.

Comanche Venable Loop
Done the Comanche Venable Loop from Alvarado. Great views and had excellant weather Just dont get no better! Really like to go back soon. A long round trip though.

Easy hike, basically a class 1 hike. Combines well with Spring Mountain and Venable Mountain.

From Alavardo Campground. Up Venable Trail, over Venable, Spring & Comanche, down Comanche Trail. Great Loop. Should have brought snowshoes but didn't.

Comanche in AugustHiked up from Alvarado Camp Ground. Fairly long, about 11 miles round trip via Comanche Lake. Clear trail and great weather.
