Moto ride and hike  Sucess!

Rode my adventure bike to the trailhead and hiked up the peak. It was nice and cool out, so it was very enjoyable. Excellent views and I didn't see a soul all day!

Easy, but awesome views. The entire Santa Rosa range was visible most of the way.

Out there  Sucess!

Nice secluded peak, easy hike, killer views especially of the Borrego valley, Coyote Canyon, and the Santa Rosas.

Hiked this one several time from the PCT. Best time was April 1 1998 with 6" of snow on the ground, and the creeks running.

The summit area used to have a lot of bigcone pines, the fires really did a lot of damage.

Thick scratchy brush...

oh no! We've gone too far :(

Nice secluded hike. Off-roading is required to make it to the trailhead, although nothing too crazy. Any vehicle should be able to make it. The hike starts out with an easy/moderate incline and proceeds to deviate off to the left on the way to the summit. The incline on the way to the summit is somewhere in between difficult moderate to easy strenuous. We kept going and missed the deviation winding up in some scratchy brush. I'm paying for that mistake...my legs are pretty gnarly looking right now. Keep an eye out for the trail deviating off to the left. If you've hit the scratchy brush you've gone too far. The trail gets rocky towards the summit. Beautiful hike with rewarding views at the top!

It seemed like it took longer to drive to the trailhead form Borrego Springs, but we had a great time and weather was also good.

Wife and two dogs to the summit on a beautiful day. Wonderful views of all the snow capped peaks to the north. Really just a great 360 panorama. And that PTC approach is a real cruise!

Scramble from the PCT  Sucess!

Beautiful breezy day from one of the highest points in SD County. Expansive views of the Santa Rosas, Mt. San Jacinto all the way to San Gorgonio. One of the easiest to follow climber's trails I've seen. Very pleasant hike.
