Fun, scenic hike
Pretty hike through pine and aspen forests to Kokomo Pass at 12,054', then a good stretch over tundra to the summit. Bushwhacked straight down from the top to regain the trail at the tree line and cut more than a mile off the return (thunder in the distance incentivized a fast descent to the cover of the forest). 10.8 miles all told (6.0 to the summit).
I did this peak as a big loop in fall of 2008 from Camp Hale on the west side. Hiked up to Kokomo Pass then climbed Sheep, N Sheep, Corbett, Elk, Sugarloaf, Pearl and PT 11716 before descending from the Jackal Hut. Whew. It was a long hike, but a beautiful fall day!

Via Cataract Gulch
I enjoyed this odd little summit along with Elk Mountain and Pearl Peak from Cataract Gulch. Still plenty of snow! Partners: Dorothea's CMC outing.
