Re: What a wonderful friend

Are Inti and Uli the dogs you took up Monte Rosa?
You will have to watch the movie I will be posting Silvia and see Mr Indio enjoying a back scratch as well as climbing mountains! At 9 years he is showing some signs of aging - a little bit stiff in his back legs now. But we were told he had climbed Cerro Plata, the highest in the range (5962m) when he was younger (we didn't try to take him up that!)

Re: What a wonderful friend

Yes, they were.
Mr Indio is really great! Some dogs are extraordinary on the peaks, in 2007 I climbed Vallunaraju in Cordillera Blanca and with us came a platoon of marines with a husky who climbed to the summit with skill and encouraging even those who had problems Really incredible!
Cheers, Silvia

Re: What a wonderful friend

I just looked Vallunaraju up - and it is 5780m - a big peak! That must have been quite a dog!
