Route Climbed: SW Face Date Climbed: 27 December 05  Sucess!

Blustery day on the summit! Deb, my son Christian, and I scrambled the SW face. Fun. We actually found some fun 5th class stuff to solo on down at the base of the western shoulder. Maybe Deb will post those photo some day....

Route Climbed: SouthWestern face Date Climbed: 27 December 2005

We had a beautiful day, approx 42 degrees and a some sunshine (albeit windier than hell, 35 mph) to explore this peak. Loads of 3rd class fun on the way to the base and some terrific 4th class exposure heading up the most western side and descended the same. No gear required, just a good grip and a little nerve. On our exit of Tamarack we continued with more exciting scrambling on many adjacent rock croppings. Great stuff!

Route Climbed: SE Face  Sucess!

Those last few moves got my attention! Worthy little side trip away from the san jac crowd.

Route Climbed: SE Face Date Climbed: June 25, 2005  Sucess!

This was a fun side trip. We were camping at Round Valley to climb San Jacinto when we decided to head up to Tamarack Valley. Cornell just begs to be climbed, so we obliged. This is a really fun climb. The tippy top is extremely exposed, but my brother John made it anyway. Great climb!

Route Climbed: SW side Date Climbed: June 27, 2004  Sucess!

After tagging San Jacinto via the Marion Mountain Trail, I took a side trip and bagged nearby Miller Peak (10,400') and Cornell Peak (9750'). I enjoyed the fun class 3 climb up via the west face of Cornell Peak with its final class 4 summit block (which I approached via the SW side). I had to sit on the summit block so I could look down the north (exposed) side of Cornell Peak.

Route Climbed: Southeast Side Date Climbed: Mar 27, 2005  Sucess!

Nice scramble on the third day of a four day SoCal HPS spree with Bob. Cool summit block!

We cheated by taking the tram up, but tried to compensate with a fairly ambitious schedule once we made it up there: first tagging an interesting third class pinnacle SE of Cornell (unnamed, but quite worthwhile), then continuing on to this one, then Miller, San Jacinto, Folly, Drury, Jean, and Marion. Lots of snow and lots of fun.

Route Climbed: east face Date Climbed: 10-30-93  Sucess!

A amazing peak in a amazing range. The views from the top are better then Jacinto's. The final boulder outcrop is very exposed but very worth it.
