my first visit to this range  Sucess!

up east ridge to Craner Peak, then south on range divide to peaks 6607 and 6605, and back to our starting point. Very nice loop, with Dennis.

Craner Peak  Sucess!

Climbed up from Craner Canyon. Climbed on a perfect day. Blue skies, nice breeze, not too hot, no flies, grass too short to hide snakes. I added another page to the summit log. Looks like it takes 2-3 years to fill up a page.

Awesome Winter Hike  Sucess!

Parked at the Quarry at the mouth of Craner Canyon and walked the 1.5 miles up the road to the base of the mountain and picked a ridge and went straight up. Fun hike.

The register at the top needs replacing as has been said by others. There wasn't a single entry for 2013. Last signed in May of 2012. This peak sees very few visitors...at least very few that know about the register.

Craner Peak  Sucess!

Reading some of the other comments on this page makes me wonder if they should rename this peak Snake Mountain. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t see any snakes. I did enjoy the hike and the views from the summit were good.

Nice February Hike  Sucess!

Nice solo hike on a Saturday, Very little snow and the smell from Magcorp was minimal. Saw two Chukars and a rabbit. Other than that, I was the only one on the mountain. Summit register last showed Dean's trip on 1/16/2010. Thanks MikerHiker for the great directions

No snakes this time  Sucess!

A wintry hike with SP member imontop (see below) and a friend of his, Dave. We hit snowy roads just off the pavement and wondered how close we could get to the summer trailhead. We made it to within a mile of that TH but we were in fog that smelled like chlorine until we got above the 5600 foot level. Amazing winter views from the summit.

My second time up but I enjoyed it a lot more thanks to Eric and Dave and their two mountain climbing dogs.

Bagged it with "The Dean" in the snow and fog. But, it was nice a sunny on top!

North  Sucess!

Came up from the north. Hiked with Greg. We came back the next week and hiked Black Mountain - just to the north of Craner.

Love the place  Sucess!

One of my favorite places to be. I have spent many years walking around this mountain. Yes, the snakes can be bad. It only takes one to ruin your day..

East cross country  Sucess!

Went in via Craner Canyon and dodged rattlesnakes on the way up.
At least I didn't have to dodge any thunderstorms as the rattlers were enough.
