I replaced the name :-).
But I think the German language and even German geographic names are still offical in Südtirol today.

maybe a little difficult to explain ...
we have 2 different self-governing provincies in 1 region :
Trento - is strongly Italian and don't like bilinguism
Bolzano - a minority using German language has got some rights to use "officially" also (not ONLY) the German language - and sometimes they forget they MUST be bilingual

So the region is named : Trentino-Alto Adige
Some names it only Sud Tyrol

I have a lot of friends living in Trentino ... :)
