Cold rain and strong winds   Sucess!

Solo. Completely alone on Crib Goch. Low visibility to top it off. Insane day out

First attempt   Sucess!

Most difficult climb to date.
Thick fog had visibility down to 5 metres and high winds made it a challenge to say the least. Looking forward to climbing again in better weather so I can appreciate the views.

From Rhyd Ddu  Sucess!

Did this as part of a larger circuit starting at Rhyd Ddu, climbing to Snowdon summit via the Rhyd Ddu path, to Y Llywedd, down to Pen-y-Pass, back up to the summit via Crib Goch and back to Rhyd Ddu via Bwich Cwmillan (near Quarry Upper Reservoir). Great hike and great views on the east side of Snowdon.

A fine airy arrete  Sucess!

My father took my brother and I on this route when I was a boy. I have done it many times since in summer and winter and it is always impressive, a gem of the British Isles.

Several ascents summer & winter  Sucess!

One of my favourite mountains in the UK - with its famous arete. I must have traversed the ridge half a dozen times following first time somewhere around 1971 - date is a guess.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Climbed via the East Ridge. Thick fog and a strong crosswind made this very dramatic. The short climb at the end isn't difficult but is very exposed so don't look down!

Breathtaking scenery and a touch of nerves too first time!  Sucess!

As the start of the Horseshoe it was as dramatic as I could have possibly expected.

with RMC  Sucess!

Did this with a bunch of guys from Reading Mountaineering Club on a superb day - far horizons. I can't remember the date or much of the detail but an overall impression of a fantastic experience.

August 1992  Sucess!

I climbed Crib Goch on the way to Snowdon from Pen-Y-Pass. A very interesting route...and apparently pretty underestimated, at least by quite a few of the people I saw there on that day with pretty inadequate shoes. It's definitely a "I+" route, and, contrary to so many routes of this kind in the Austrian Alps for instance, there isn't the slightest assistance such as metal ropes or ladders or anything of the kind, probably out of principle, which I would fully understand.
I loved Snowdonia when I was there, and I hope to go back someday!

Nice Scramble  Sucess!

Followed the Snowdon Horseshoe route. Very busy, but to be expected on a summer saturday. Still, excellent conditions and a very enjoyable scramble, the first peak bagged that day.

Nice ridge  Sucess!

Did the arete as part of the way up Snowden. Visibility wasn't great, but I remember being struck by the fact that I could see a crow soaring almost directly below me, when I looked over the edge at one point.
