Looks dangerous ..

Did you paint your ice axe, or did you just
settle for the practicality of your tool and
proceed to the opposite side of Paradise ?

After many years of using my ice axe the paint was chipping away, so my friend and I painted my ice axe black to give it more style. It was worth every drop of spray paint.

No Rope?

It's an awesome shot but did you do this climb without roping up? I'm guilty of crossing a couple glaciers unroped but generally I think it's a bad habit.

Thanks Marlon. I am now planning on doing a winter ascent of Mount Rainier. If it were not for the expense factor, I would already have a trip ready for Denali and beyond. But some day they will be waiting for me.
