Crossing the Log Jam

Crossing the log jam on our way to Snowmass Lake. Unfortunately it had just finished pouring down rain right before we reached the jam, so the logs were very wet and slippery, making for a more difficult crossing. Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness August 16, 2010

Cool.

Never been across the logjam during the summer months. I've heard it can be tricky to negotiate?
And look! An external frame pack! I never thought I'd ever see one of those again!

The jam WAS difficult to cross. It probably would have been easier with just a day pack.

And yeah, that's Rob's external frame pack from years gone by where he did a lot of backpacking.
