Maybe I'm bias, but this is one of my favorite hikes. The page is good. I like the pics.

For a spectacular view north from Crotched, head on over to the ski area. You can climb up from the ski area (on Rte 47 at the Bennington/Francestown line). There is a dirt roadway with mostly moderate grades that starts under the summit chairlift turns left, swings back right, then climbs quite steeply with loose rock before turning back left to the top. Note that the road doesn't go to the actual summit (ends at around 1800 feet), but there are spectacular wide angle views to the north at the top of the ski area. I was able to pick out Mt. Lafayette on a clear day. Can also see Lovewell, Kearsarge, the Belknaps, Chocorua, Uncanoonucs and others. I wouldn't recommend walking up the ski slope itself as it is very overgrown in the summer (ticks).
