When I lived in Charlotte Crowder's was the place to escape to if you only had a few hours. Best areas in my opinion is near Trundlesaurous.
Crowded but nice.
Nice crag with lots of climbs around. Gets hot in the summer, but shade abounds some climbing areas depending on the time of day.
Nice little climbing area. A bit on the crowded side. Did some fine routes and then went home.
There were some really great views as the storm cleared. Also the rocks were really wet which at least made it seem more riskier and therefore more fun.
First Climb outdoors, I loved it and only a hour from the house.
Good TRing, nice place.
excellent place with excellent routes
Fun swiss-cheese style choss with the intermittent piece of sound rock. Lots of fun here, but look out for rednecks throwing rocks!
Lots of steep choss to climb here.
The other side of the park from kings pinnacle. Cool place. used to climb at least once a week here.
I visit this mountain several times per year, since it's the closest peak to where I live. However, I usually climb the more impressive sister peak, King's Pinnacle, which is about 300 feet taller and more dramatic. But this is a good climb and there are some nice places to sit and chill out and enjoy this bit of forest and slopes isolated here in the flat country around Charlotte NC.
