Damp Day  Sucess!

Hiked up on a refreshing cool, damp day after a storm preceded by several weeks of heavy wildfire smoke. Low, billowing clouds made for nice views of the vicinity, especially toward Scapegoat Mountain. Nice peak and a straightforward hike up via trail 270.

Super Windy Ridge.  Sucess!

Neat mountian (very interesting shape). I went up a way described by a blogger that goes by bigskywalker. Very fun route, but, like bigskywalker says, wouldn't want to bring a group up this way (lots of potential for big rock fall). Ridge was awesome. Went down the standard route described here in SP.

Cool and breezy  Sucess!

Post-holed up the Crown Mountain trail (mostly snow after the first mile or so) and then ascended the dry east face with some cliff-skirting and scrambling. Descended via the big gully on the south aspect. My first peak in the area with an awesome and hilarious group of friends! Good day.

Petty Ford Loop  Sucess!

I started at Double Falls and safely made it up Petty Creek without running into any bears. (Lots of sign!) Then did a traverse of Crown Mountain counter-clockwise from the pass. It was awesome and a great cool day for a hike! Back down the main trail.

Spring Ascent of Crown  Sucess!

Solo, windy, but mostly sunny and great views in every direction. Found a Nepalese rupee bill in a ziploc in the summit cairn.

Nice Variety  Sucess!

This hike goes from a nice streamside trail to sub-alpine pass to rock and scree scramble. Great summit views of the southern Rocky Mountain Front.
