The standard move is to head R and attain Starlight Buttress. That's what Norman Clyde did (lower down than the crux pitch), and what most parties do if the ice isn't in. I think it's safer from rockfall. The climbing is low 3rd-low 5th, I think. That's if you're looking to get to Starlight though. If you're aiming for N.Pal. your option might make sense.
