Current River

Current River

A view of the Current River from a bluff on the Ozark Trail's Blair Creek section. I startled two turkey vultures and a blue heron from this location, and they startled me enough that I couldn't get a decent picture. With Jacks Fork, the Current River makes up Ozark National Scenic Riverways, which is one of America's most oddly named national parks. Federal ownership is mostly limited to rectangular parcels following these two rivers, with state parks, state forests, and private lands interspersed. May 2008.
