Great day with Ben, 1st pitch was fun 5.9 with a little awkward move to the anchors. 2nd pitch started again with an exposed move over the boulder/exposed mantle move, afterwards the bolt ladder was surprisingly easy. French freed the first 3 bolts, then normal climbing. Beautiful summit.
Started late, 12:15 - wanted to climb later in the afternoon to be in the sun and still made it back by 3 and ran up another tower - Pickle at the entry to Arches.
Easy fun climb while being chased by storms. Did Jah Man & Ancient Art on same trip.

into the darkness
led the whole thing at 5.7, C1. the crack on the first pitch wasn't bad on aid, but the bulge to start P2 is a nightmare. drives me nuts....great summit, which we reached at sunset. rappelling into the darkness is a fantastic feeling.

West Face Route
This is the last of "smaller" spires in Arches NP that we wanted to do. Fun climb with a scenic approach hike. The rock is probably comparable in quality to Right Chimney on The Three Penguins (in other words pretty good by Arches standards) though still quite sandy of course. Aided the pitch 2 bolt ladder. Will try to post a TR from the whole trip.
