DATE AND TIME: 112106, 1120; LOCATION: Taken from the Custer/Huerfano county line along C-69 (mileposts 42-43), between Gardner and Westcliffe; CAMERA: Olympus SP-500 UZ, 6 megapixel, 10x optical, 5x digital; DESCRIPTION: A late-morning panorama of the eastern Sangre de Cristos, taken from the Wet Mountain Valley. Marble Mountain is located at about the halfway point of this panorama. The Crestones are the darkened distant peaks flanked by Marble Mountain and Humboldt Peak. Click on the image for a larger view, then click again for a larger panning version. Several other 13ers, including Mt. Herard (far left), Tijeras Peak (left of center), Colony Baldy and Horn Peak (right 1/4) can also be seen in this panorama. Here is another panorama of the eastern Sangre de Cristos, taken from along C-96 just east of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff.
