Deadhorse Lake, Uintas

Deadhorse Lake, Uintas

At about 10,900 feet, Deadhorse Lake in Utah's High Uinta Wilderness Area reflects the fleeting alpenglow of a late-June sunset. The mountain in this picture is part of the Uinta Crest, a massive ridgeline that runs east to west for about 80 miles. It is unnamed as are many of the peaks in the range. June 2002. Fuji Velvia.

Re: intense

This shot gets little action here but I love it. Handheld no less... could have used a grad nd but I was not packing one a the time (it was in the %$@^$# car).

Re: intense

You could try to do an HDR image in Photoshop CS3, if you want to open up the foreground a little. I think it's a great shot, which really captures the whole wilderness experience.
