Hiked from Castle Mountain Lodge which made it about a ten mile round trip. It was a good hike with good views of Longs.

Nice warmup hike
Hiked this the morning before a Chapin-Chiquita-Ypsilon trifecta.
This was as relaxing and enjoyable as a summit hike could be.
About an hour and a half to get the the top, great views of the Mummy Range as well as Longs peak. We hiked this one on a Saturday and were the first in the parking area at 6am.
FYI- Since horses are welcome on this trail you'll be dodging a fair amount of poo.

Yep ...
... kind of what I imagined. Much like a foothills timber hike, with a good view at the top. If you want something spectacular, go elsewhere. I would guess this would be a hot one mid-summer.

May hike
Nice forested hike with two friends from back east. Good views from the summit of Beaver Meadows and Longs Peak.
Did this as a snowshoe one winter - nice climb on a sunny day in the Park. I attempted on another occassion and wandered around near the summit - didn't have my GPS at the time!!

Pretty quick trip. Lingered awhile at the top taking in the views of Estes and Moraine Park. Made a small fire for 'ambiance'. Good day with good weather.
climbed a few times...good snow free trail (for the most part) in the winter...

Quick and easy summit
A little over an hour to ascend. Found a group of people on the summit who rode horses up there. The guide, complete with cowboy hat and Levi's, stumbled upon the summit marker that he had never seen before. After he asked out loud what it was, I told him. I guess cowboys don't know much about mountaineering?
Combined this with a hike to Mills Lake to make a great day.
