Heaven on Earth
I hiked from Ponderosa Ranch and after 3 miles or so, the footprints in the snow ran out. Fortunately for me, the route was pretty easy to follow with deer tracks coming in and out, cut logs, clearings in the brush and snow depressions marking the way. I traversed the length of the rim to see Zion Canyon and the eastern extent of the national park. This hike didn't take a lot of work, but the views were tremendous. Why isn't this place visited more often?

Incredible Views
Some amazing viewpoints around the edges, even for Zion. From Many Pools canyon. You can walk forever once you are up on the plateau.

Deertrap Mountain
Hiked to Deertrap Mountain via the East Rim. The summit is surrounded by trees. The viewpoint at the edge of the rim has a great view of Mountain of the Sun.
