A group of three summited while doing an 11-mile section of the PCT. We followed the remains of an old logging road from the east over two hills then to the summit and took the same route back down to the PCT.
Second of 2 pre-9 AM peaks while the family was sleeping in. 20 mins up and about 15 down.
Steep and short! 4th of 7 for the day -- accompanied only by Zeus and Loki
After bagging Bertha Peak, we followed the PCT northeast, then went straight up to the summit. Some route-finding was needed to find the top. We then got lost coming down into Big Bear.
Hiked along the PCT from the east. Went to both summits and think the lower one has a better view of the lake and Big Bear area.
Great day for hiking. Took the scenic route back along the PCT.
A "redux" of a hike I did 20 years ago, although from the Holcomb Valley Road/PCT intersection (east of the listed route). Nice 1/2 day trail hike with some scampering the last 1/2 mile.
Dayhiked from the PCT/road.
Great views of Big Bear and surrounding areas.
My son Kevin's very first peak. Nice walk with great views of Big Bear Lake and the San Gorgonio massif.
I'm never unsuccessfool because I f'ing rule everybody.
A good return to a very old friend. Awesome views of Gorgonio and the Ord Mountains. Also visited some other old Big Bear friends.
