trying out the other side  Sucess!

Took 56 minutes to hit the summit stairs, which were once part of a building of some sort no longer present. The Delaware River overlook on the AT was excellent but I did not linger because someone had a big angry dog with them.

Easy enough  Sucess!

Easy enough hiked on well-marked trail. Not much parking, but a Wednesday in September worked out fine. Not really much in the way of views

Mind the Gap  Sucess!

Combined Mount Tammanay and Mount Minsi to make a nice dayhike. This is a fun little hike if you can handle the crowds. It's about as much mountain fun as you'll find in PA/NJ!

Throughout the year  Sucess!

Delaware Water Gap is the closest "mountain" to me, so i go and hike this all the time. Love to head up during snow storms!

Hiked all through here  Sucess!

several times in the summers of 1969, 1970 and 1971. It was always hot and great to get to the top for the views. The most vivid memory I have is coming up past some small pond (Sunshine?) and encountering nude hippies sunbathing along the trail; quite an eyeful for the campers I was guiding that week!

Climbing

Did my first outdoor climbing here on topropes. The steep use trail to the climbing walls is fun, too, I could've gone on for hours. Another first (coming from California, where it doesn't exist) was the poison ivy - damn, do those rashes burn for weeks.

AT Trail from DWG  Sucess!

Hiked up the AT trail from the town of Delaware Water Gap on a warm August day. Nice views but the sound of the highway takes the edge off the experience.

AT South from DWG  Sucess!

Got the itch to hike on the AT today (someone lent me AWOL on the AT last weekend). Comfortable hike up and down, lots of through hikers today.

Used to do some crazy stuff on this mountain  Sucess!

The 2nd "real" mountain I ever climbed, though I can honestly say I never knew it's name till now. Climbed it in every season. Great place!!

AT South  Sucess!

After a hibernation from hiking all winter, made my first climb of the year. Wanted to see the "other side" of The Gap. A great hike. Very easy to get to. Winter's over!

Route Climbed: AT in ant out Date Climbed: January 21, 2006  Sucess!

Even though I hiked Mt. Tammany fourth times never have the time to look for trailhead for Mt. Minsi (it looks little "disconnected" on the map). But this time went with some people who hike here every winter for couple of decades. So after hiking Mt. Tammany moved to the trailhead for Mt. Minsi.

The conditions felt a lot like late fall hiking. Very nice weather some morning clouds were exchanged for some afternoon sun. Very warm - 50's.

Route Climbed: Telephone Traverse (Attempt)

Wanted to try a new route, but gap winds of 40-50 mph with gusts higher than that forced me down after 100 yards up the rockslide.
