It may be on a slightly different route. Here's a quote from John Biggar's book:
"From the Vegas del Blancquillo climb by the W or SW slopes on snow and scree to the summit. 7-8h. Lots of bizarre white white pumice makes this a very interesting ascent".
It might only be in one location, so maybe it's easy to miss.
I took the same route following the path that was for a long time pretty well visible. There was a lot of pumice around, but not big formations but small rocks of the size of a fist maybe. Most of the scree/sand was very white so maybe Biggar was referring to that? Just sent you a PM with a link to more pictures.

Nice pageNice first page. The mountain is definitely on the list and I'd like to climb it someday (I'd like to see the pumice formations up there).
