Descending the Crux Spot

On Manly Beacon, this is the crux. It is steep and narrow, and the dirt is hard and slick. It's a Class 2+ spot, but if not for the few rocks in just the right places, it would be harder, with nothing good for purchase. Death Valley National Park, CA-- April 2011
