Descending through the Pearly...

Descending through the Pearly Gates at ca. 4:30PM on February 18th, 2005. Despite a ridiculous departure time of 9:45AM, we encountered perfect conditions at the Hogsback (our original goal) and decided to go for the summit. Temp. was in lower 20's, no wind and clear; schrund was closed. Used crampons on the descent only.

Mt. Hood

Looks like a good day for your group. Way to go. We did it last year for the first time in March. Snow boarded down from just below Hogs Back where we stashed the boards. Great trip. I was wondering how this year was going for climbing Mt Hood. Glad you posted the picture.
