Desert Spoon on Nature's Table

This is another cool desert plant called the Desert Spoon or Sotol. I found it growing above 5,000 feet, right here outside Payson, AZ. It's symetry is amazing, and it usually grows on south-facing cliff-sides where there's plenty of sun. This one was growing beneath a tower of granite in the "The Boulders" area of central Arizona. (May 5, 2008) I hope it was as good for you as it was for me! :)

Desert Spoon

Never seen granite so pink. Is it the time of the day that makes it that color, or may be when it's wet?

Thanks! Sandstone appears brighter when wet
in the Sedona area. Granite depends on
composition, time of day and how much I
messed around with it in the photo editor.
