Detail of the Sierra crest between Mts. Haeckel (off to the right) and Wallace (off to the left) for the Traverse from Mt. Haeckel route. he permanent snowfield below the crest makes bailing off the route difficult. Fortunately the route is fairly tame class 3. Aug 4, 2004
