Determination

Awww... The things some of us do for a summit. This is what I was willing to do at 3:00 AM, just to get a little closer to our morning summit goal. This was probably the twelfth such downed tree blocking our access road. Doing this definitely saved us hiking distance, until our vehicle was eventually stopped by deep snowpack. We still had to hike 2.5 miles to the summit, but that is much better than the 5-10 miles each way it could have been... especially considering we planned to drive hundreds of miles and attempt multiple peaks later that day. Old Fashion

Reminds me of when I went up Gold Hill. In our case we used a chain saw which almost ran out of gas on the last set of fallen over trees. But the old saw certainly wins style points.

Awesome Determination

I've often thought we should bring a saw along on these trips. When did you start carrying one?

Re: Awesome Determination

I didn't. The saw was brought by Paul M.
