Devil's Tower, Wyoming

Devil's Tower, Wyoming

I Lakota language it is called "Bear Tower". It rises dramatically 1.267 feet (386 m) above the surrounding terrain. The tower is sacred to several Native American Plains tribes. Because of this, many Indian leaders objected to climbers ascending the monument, considering this desecration. Luckily for us, the monument is open to climbing. You just have to register at the visitor's center. No reservations necessary.
