First time in Hawaii and first hike of vacation.
Short, easy hike from the visitor's center. Very crowded, but worth it once for the 360 views. New benchmark was placed in 2002. Interesting historical site, too.
Nice quick hike up. Bees decided on a nest site next to the trail (I'm talking on a branch within a foot of the narrow trail) and were swarming when we descended. After trying to stay calm and walking through the swarm, the trail switched back and we had to walk through them again. Inner harmony worked and neither Heidi nor I got stung.
Walked from the sea to the summit, nice views.
Walked from hotel in Waikiki after flying in that day. First time up in about 30 years and only because the rest of the mountains were being pounded by rain.
Nice view from the top, but really hot! and crowded
Nice early wander up to the top. Some interesting info signs at the beginning. Would be nice if more of the site was accessible.
Great views :)
Great views on top.
sister, nephew and niece.
Rkymtn and I did it since we were there- good views, but pretty busy.
Got a big kick out of all the people gasping, whining, and moaning as if this was the most difficult thing they had ever done.
Great family hike. Our boys really liked checking out the bunkers and lookouts. Great views, nice day.
Don't remember exactly when but it was early 90's. Flashlights are good. I got too friendly with a Japanese tourist in the long dark tunnel and I don't know what she said but she wasn't happy.
Hiked by myself because wedding party got cold feet. Easy short interesting hike.
Hiked up with Ezra Dancio and Matt Thielman. Windy at the top even at 9AM. Cool views of Waikiki and cliffs below.
I think it took 20 minutes from the bus stop. But the views were awesome.
Round trip from the condo in Waikiki was about two and half to three hours. Walked up to the gate, paid my one dollar admission, went to the top, and descended. Easy trail for anyone on summitpost, but this is probably the best vantage point of Honolulu. Enjoy!
Quite a crowd since it was a Friday and the trail was closed Monday - Thursday!! Nice views of Honolulu
A little sunday stroll to enjoy the views...with a gazillion other people!! The history is really interesting.
