New York - Difficult - Shimer Loop from Weller Lake. Above Weller the bushwhacking involved a lot of dead fall from either past avalanches or past fires. Above treeline the route is great!

Traverse from New York Pk
With Megan Berry, 16. Up on to the ridge system from the Grottos parking lot on Rt 82. Nasty, steep bushwhack. Then over NY Pk and on to Difficult. From there, on round the ridge to the col that the NY Ck trail comes up to. Down NY Ck trail and then hitched a lift along the Linc Ck Rd to the Grottos. Gorgeous day, and a great ridge walk with expansive views of the Elks throughout.
