Nice page. Is that you in the frozen fence photo with the orange jacket on? In that caption, you forgot the most important ingredient of them all for that formation to occur: moisture.

I flew over Dirfi by aeroplane last spring. The mountain was covered with snow and skiing would have been possible in the gullies far down. The snow capped mountain and the beautiful Mediterranean sea gave a great contrast which did not fit into our clichee of Greece being a hot and dry country.
