Northeast Ridge
Climbed with good friend Ely B exactly 24 days after flipping my car in Death Valley and being airlifted to a Vegas hospital. Yikes.

Nice morning climb
Climbed with Blake Passmore and his friends Mike and Rod on a day on which the clouds won out over the sun. Nice views while they lasted, and Rod and I reached the summit just in time to catch the views from there as well.
A favorite peak of Saintgrizzly's...Blake and I offered up a greeting to him up top.

Snowshoed in from hwy 89. Going up the shoulder to the ridge was a little tough, and I was surprised by considerable snow and ice on the ridge itself. Went to the lookout and enjoyed the frigid sunshine before deciding that a summit attempt might not be wise solo given the wind and ice and cornices. Never seen such cornices on Divide before. Climbed many many times in the summers, and twice during previous winters. this one was a doozy. Saw Bugwik's tracks going in but I skipped the road and xc'd it and never saw them again on the approach or climb, so he must have gone up the nw face to the ridge.

Weekend Wrap Up
Climbed with a large group of The Rocky Mountaineers as we wrapped up our annual Glacier Classic weekend in the park.
Skied from the hi way to the ridge. Snow covered talus climb from there thanks to the blasting winds. Whiteout on the way down glad the climbing was not to difficult!

Great hike once you're on the ridge
Climbed it on a foggy August day. Took us half an hour just to find the trailhead and couldn't see the mountain at all. Made the summit and the clouds parted on the way down to reveal the spectacular scenery below. Outstanding, and not a tough climb once you get above the muddy trail and onto the ridge.
Awesome views from the parking lot. Easy, interesting route up the ridge and past the abandonded fire lookout to the buggy summit. Summit views include a very vivid example of the mountains abruptly meeting the prairie.
Also climbed on June 19, 2011. Snow complicated the route over the last couple hundred of vertical feet. On the descent, we spotted some friends of ours skinning up the snowy east face - my hiking partner and I met them on the snow and glissaded down on an abundance of slushy snow. Great spring summit.

Divide Mountain
Very easy mountain to ascend even if going up the boulder field instead of the trail. Amazing views of the other Glacier Peaks especially White Calf and Red Eagle Mountains. Climbed with Rebelgrizz.

Solo
This was one of my most enjoyable summits. The rock is firm, providing very good purchase for climbing, and the view for the amount of energy expended is incredible. Nice little wooden lookout on the ridge (old).

Due to various maladies (Fred's shoulder-back-feet and my broken toe), this was the first hike/climb of the year. Great fun and great views. Hopefully we are now on the way to doing more.

Climbed with Moni.
The Tribe is salvage logging the burn and there are now several spur roads in the area, so there can be a little confusion as to the correct road to the parking spot. Following the power line is the key to staying on the correct road.

Excellent views from a peak that is not centrally located. The most astonishing view was of the surrounding devastation from the Red Eagle Fire. That is as black as black gets.
