dog friendly park

Great Sand Dunes, Colorado, is the only national park (as far as I am aware), which allows dogs to hike all over the dunes and trails.

Another question...

How about wild dogs? Did you see any coyotes
or foxes ???

Re: Another question...

I heard coyotes, but did not see any, and did not see any foxes either... but with Duchess around it is really hard to spot any wildlife.

Re: Another question...

Yeah, I know what you mean.

My friend used to bring her dogs out on the
Alaskan tundra, and they loved to chase after
Caribou.

They never caught any. It was just "the chase" that captivated them and gave them
a real sense of purpose.

Re: Another question...

Duchess loves to chase cows, but she got a little bit confused in South Dakota and wanted to chase buffaloes.

Re: Another question...

Duchess seems to be a very well-behaved dog
and a loyal companion.

Hey, isn't it getting close for you to get
on-board a departure flight to Europe ??

Yeap, Friday...I am spoiled - 1st class...

Duchess is not going. I will miss her. Still looking for someone to watch her. Do you know anyone Larry? (I have a major part of my stay covered, but still a few days missing).

Re: Another question...

Poor Duchess! I miss her, and I haven't even
met her.

There must be some reliable people in your area
who would be happy to take care of Duchess.

Re: Another question...

Larry, it is a good business to watch dogs. I pay 40$ per day, plus people get to sleep in my Tempur Pedic bed - hahaha, of course they have to share the bed with Duchess....

very cool

shot & the fact that "national park (as far as I am aware), which allows dogs to hike all over "

...next to running in the snow, running in the sand is our dog's 2nd favorite activity in this world!

Re: very cool

I think because it just recently became a national park. Dogs should be on leash, but I usually take Duchess off high up on dunes. There is nobody there, and she is a good dog - always stays close to me. Duchess loves snow and sand too, and she is very afraid of water...

Re: very cool

Just from looking at Duchess in the picture, I can definitely tell she's a really good dog.

Of course, "good" doesn't always buy you out of trouble, but as long as she's having FUN then it should not matter at all.

Re: very cool

Thanks Larry... but did I mention that she does not like dog food. I have to put olive oil and parmesan cheese on it, otherwise she will not touch it.
And I bought her x-mass dog cookies yesterday, and she did not want those, but my son liked it -hahaha.

Duchess

Liba, bring her to Idaho, we will watch her for you! The boys would love her not to mention our little ten pounder, she likes bigger dogs as well.

Ten pounder? Does it come with Idaho spuds
and lots of gravy ??? : )

Actually, I don't even own a dog, but my
friend's dog LOVES vienna sausages with cheese!

Re: Duchess...

Just pondering on what you just said:

All dogs are cute, until they display erratic
behavior, like taking a chuck out of your
arm or something. : ))

Anyway, have a Happy Holiday everybody !!!

And, thanks for the little chit-chat...
