I'm confused. Catinaccio and Pelmo are on opposite sides of Marmolada.

You are correct! It's just the perspective - the photo is taken from the Denti di Terrarossa, facing east. Only a tiny fraction of Monte Pelmo can be seen at extreme left - see: http://www.summitpost.org/image/318663/150874/monte-pelmo-and-la-marmolada-at-sunset.html
