Doughton Park Classic

Near the summit of Bluff Mountain. This outcrop is along the trail as one hikes between the summit and the lodge area in Doughton Park. This section of the Blue Ridge Parkway is notable for its high meadows with sweeping vistas, rarities in the Blue Ridge. The composition of this photo, with the subject dead-center, is intentional; I was seeking a balance between the meadow and the sky. Blue Ridge Parkway, NC-- March 2010
