Dry Fork with Some Water
This beautiful long slot had ankle and calf deep pools in the last half of the slot. Enjoyed it a lot.
Because I was alone, I could not even get up the initial climb into nearby Peek-a-boo, and Spooky truly creeped me out and I retreated. I was glad to have fully enjoyed one slot today.

Nice entry in to slots.
Great area to bang out some easy slots. Peak-a-boo had 3 big pools so we could not do the circle route but we explored everything else. Fun times!Higher clearance needed to get to the final TH but there is another that will add a mile or so round trip.
First backpacking experience. Quite a drastic change of scenery coming from Missouri.

Dry Fork
May 30 2010
My dad had to get to Green River in the afternoon in order to catch the Greyhound Bus, so we had to do a relatively short hike today. We chose Peekaboo and Spooky Canyons, two interesting canyons in the Escalante region.
We left very early in the morning and headed for Peekaboo Canyon. Kessler and Shaylee loved the climb into the canyon and had a blast exploring it and climbing over the obstacles. When the slot widened to a wash, we hiked across the desert to the head of Spooky Canyon.
The kids really liked climbing through the canyon and due to the narrowness of the passage beat the adults through. After Spooky Canyon we headed to the slot in Upper Dry Fork. Kessler, my dad and I explored Dry Fork while Shaylee and Kim played in the sand in the shade. After exploring Dry Fork we headed back to the trailhead and drove to Green River where we did some church activities.

I did this hike with my wife back when we were engaged.
It was thanks to your posting that I decided to take my own kids aged 6 and 9 plus baby through Peekaboo and Spooky. After all, if Scott took his kids through it, then mine will like it too. It was awesome.

Great slots
Went to all four slots on the same day. Spooky was the favorite, although it was amazing how dark and cold Brimstone was.
