easy day-hike. summited in 1h10m.
Starting from Spooner Summit I snowshoed up Duane Bliss and South Camp Peaks. Great views of Tahoe, particularly from Duane Bliss. I love the quiet Nevada side and had the area to myself.
From Spooner Summit, a fun hike which included the unworthy White Hill along with Duane Bliss, Genoa and South Camp peaks. Duane Bliss was a steep albeit easy cross country scramble up the hill, a quick side trip from the TRT before continuing on to Genoa Peak. TR is HERE.
Nice day hike along with Genoa and South Camp peaks.
TRT from Spooner Summit with Dad.
A quick climb after doing Genoa Peak and South Camp Peak.
Another quick conditioning hike as I try to drop the 20lbs I put on over the winter :(
Continued south on the TRT for a bit until I hit the snow line about a half mile from South Camp.
Pics and trip report are here.
Snowshoe to Genoa Peak, South Camp Pk and Duane Bliss Pk.
Hiked to Genoa with son Ryan, then tagged Duane Bliss on the way back.
Quick afternoon compensation peak after getting stopped out on Rubicon due to snow in the morning.
No snow (or moisture at all) on the eastern Tahoe rim, though it did start pouring after I got back to the car.
Took the Tahoe Rim Trail up to the base and bushwhacked up the open woods to the top. Pretty easy going; and nice weather.
