Greg Jagielski had shared with me his way of accessing this mountain and it worked perfectly. High clearance is required and good tires (4WD also recommended) but I was able to drive up to the Silver Hill mine. The road is in decent condition. We parked near the mine and I took off on foot from there. It is 1300' feet in a half mile so it is very steep but some snow higher up made this a tougher (slippery along with mud in sections)than it will be when all dried out. Found Greg and Kadee's register and a central benchmark and witness one. Awesome views and one of Utah's top 100 Prominence peaks. #94 for me.
Jason and I had a good day climbing this and 4 other smaller mountains in the area. Other peaks that day are on page http://www.willhiteweb.com/utah_climbing/western_desert/elephant_knoll_020.htm
