Mad Wolf Circuit
Mad Wolf, Eagle Plume, and Bad Marriage. Incredible ridge. Decent went smoother than anticipated.

Trifecta
Did the circuit BM to EP to MW with Chad, Lisa, Red, Kat, Stephen. We had great weather. Upon exiting near the CB campground we found the whole drainage had been closed (while we were doing the circuit) due to bears feeding on a cow carcass in the campground area. We probably narrowly escaped a mauling that day LOL
Drove my Wrangler to the end of the Cutbank Ridge 4x4 road. Climbed Bad Marriage first and traversed to Eagle Plume, and Mad Wolf. Still was an incredibly long day. With Sean, X, and Fletcher

Full Circuit
Climbed with a group from GMS. It was a very hot day, ended up with heat cramps. A successful though not very enjoyable day.

Eagle Plume - Mad Wolf Circuit
with Dale, Terra (the newlyweds first met on this hike!)and Jon
Climbed as part of the "Mad Wolf Circuit". Extensive flooding of Cut Bank Creek due to massive snowfall in 2010/11 winter prevented us from finding a safe and suitable place to ford until reaching the boundary clearcut. Ended up being a 20 hour long debacle, mercifully ending at 2 AM.

Mad Wolf Circuit
Found the old trail (secretly being sawed out by someone! Thank you!) thanks to old data on my GPS from Cut Bank Creek through the trees to Mad Wolf. Lovely ridge walk to Eagle Plume and Bad Marriage. Heard horror stories about the waterfall area so we bailed off the backside of Bad Marriage to the trail and hiked ~4 miles out. Definitely a schwack but not terrible by Glacier standards.

Grand Circuit - Three Peaks
15 hour day. A little breezy. On Mad Wolf around 10 am, Eagle Plume at 12:30 and Bad Marriage around 2:30. Lost some time climbing past the falls when I lead everyone on a wild goose chase. Retraced our steps and found the way down past the lower falls. Most climbers run into difficulty by going downhill after the lower falls. We ascended below the cliffs on Mad Wolf to the crest of Cut Bank Ridge staying well above any vegetation. All 6 of us had a great day. I highly recommend the circuit over having to retrace one's steps and you get a third peak!
By the way Ralph, the route gets terribly confusing around the lower falls... when our group descended to the northwest from Mad Wolf, we wasted a couple of hours finding the right way down. I'm looking forward to giving this route a go for the third time this July!

Mad Wolf Circuit
Unsuccessful circuit attempt on July 21, 2009. Left our site at Cut Bank Campground at 10am; the bushwhack and slog to Mad Wolf took about 4 1/2 hours, much longer than we'd hoped for. Our goal was to complete the ridge walk to Eagle Plume and Mad Marriage, but we opted to head down. Followed the large, talus-covered basin draining the northwest side of Mad Wolf. Had difficulty finding correct route (Climber's Guide wasn't too helpful) from there, and ended up wading through a cold creek for over 2 hours, hitting the Triple Divide Pass Trail at 10pm. Consult with someone who's done the route before so you don't waste time like we did!
Also unsuccessful on August 22, 2010. Climbed Mad Wolf in 3 1/2 hours, but fast approaching clouds forced us to turn back. Maybe next time!
Finally completed the circuit on August 13, 2011. Enjoyed 13 1/2 hours on a warm, spectacular day on Mad Wolf, Eagle Plume, and Bad Marriage. We left Cut Bank CG at 7am, and were on Eagle Plume via Mad Wolf at 12:35. Wonderful views from the summit into some very wild valleys.
