South Side Loop
Made a nice ten mile loop out of both summits via Fourmile TH. Dropped off the south slopes of East Buffalo via talus slopes to Salt Creek Trail then back to Fourmile.

West to East from 431
With MountainHikerette, we did West first, then over to East. Did better with following roads on the return. Recommend map, compass, GPS and knowing how to use them!

traverse across the skyline of the buffaloes on a peaceful, late october day. the views of the sawatch and down into the arkansas river valley are spectacular from up here!
Climbed these peaks together from the west via Fourmile Road outside of Buena Vista. Great views of the Sawatch, Northern Sangre and Mosquito Ranges. Cold and windy day, but definitely worth it!

Mosquito
Great holidays that I spent in the mountains. First day, I hiked Jacque Peak and Pennsylvania Mountain. It was very smoky that day, first glimpse on the fire season. View of Tenmiles are great. Second day I hiked Tweto, Mosquito, Treasurevault, Repeater, Evans B and London. Great and long trip. Then I drove to the Buffalo Peak wilderness and my car broke. I was towed to Fairplay to have my car repaired but I had to wait till Tuesday. Then they fixed it soon enough that I was able to hike both East and West Buffalo Peaks. They are awesome. I was bushwhacking a lot on the way up East Bufff.

Elk, Bighorn Sheep, bear scat...plenty of wildlife on these less-traveled peaks. Loved this outing, makes for a good, scenic day. Elissa & Laraine are troopers. :-)
