East Buttress

East Buttress

Summit of Whitney after our climb of East Buttress route. Shirley is showing off the contents of the heavy pack she carried. Yours truly showing off his altitude sickness twisted face (insert, May 30, 2004).

Nice job.

Wondered how the altitude would treat you. Glad you made it safely. Cool pictures.

I was the last hiker that saw you on top.

Hello, I am hiker who told you I came over from Mt. Russel. Yes, your wife did look a little tired when I was talking to you. I decended the mountaineer's route just before you. Did you make down before dark? I was pretty tired too. I just completed Mt. Carriolon, Russel, Muir, and Whitney.

Re: I was the last hiker that saw you on top.

It's a small world :)

We saw you making your way down MR into the notch - the gravelly, wet slabs just above the 3rd class rock before the notch were a pain. Made it back to camp (Iceberg) after dark.

Bagging the 4 peaks in a day - that's very impressive stuff. Think I was very tired too since it took me a while to catch on to what you were saying on the summit - sorry.

Radek
