East Face Direct

East Face Direct

The East Face of Mt Borah. The summit sits slighty to the right of center above the steep ridge that rises from the cornice on the northeast ridge. I watched the first ascent of this 2100' unclimbed face on September 24, 2011 by Wes Collins and Kevin Hansen of Idaho. With me, the Boise desert rat as the support guy we were about as all Idaho a team as you could put together. This route was put up on-sight, with no beta, no topos, and in the finest style one could imagine. Mt Borah - East Face Direct (III 5.9) Lost River Range, Idaho

Re: Congrats!

Thanks! Wes is the Butte County Sheriff and Kevin came up from his temp job of driving potato trucks in Malta, Id. (It's harvest time in southern Idaho). I guess you could call us the all "Idaho Spud" team.
