Walking on Manzanita
Postcard perfect scenery this morning with fresh snow on the ground and in the trees; maybe I should have been paying attention to the trail! I took the tributary slog between Jean and Marion from just before Wellman's Divide; walking on TOP of manzanita for nearly 2 hours was NOT fun. Thank goodness for the map and compass to get me off of Marion in quicker fashion.
Awesome views from Marion summit block even with the forboding clouds coming from the south. There was a bit of whining going on as I downclimbed the summit block with all the snow and ice. Also encountered very large "cat" paw print on my way in. !!

Nice Route
Easy route and is the best with snow. Fun summit block too.
