East of Lukla

East of Lukla

Evening clouds part for a brief moment, revealing unknown peaks east of Lukla. The Zatra La, the 15,000' pass leading into the Hinku Valley is to the right, in the cloud. There is a wealth of exploratory climbing here, just a few hours walk from Lukla.

i like this one a lot!

dramatic sunlit peaks peeping out from the clouds and the contrast with the trees in the foreground.

Re: :-)

Thanks. I had to do a 25-meter dash to get that nice curved tree in the frame before the clouds closed in again.

Good luck on your next adventure. Your web page is fantastic!

Re: Magic

Thanks. This is the typical afternoon clouds or fog( fog = clouds that are close to the ground). It meant that for most of the trip we couldn't see much in the afternoon, but once in a while it would open up like this, always a breathtaking moment!

Re: Beatifull...

Thanks again. This was one of those mountain magic moments. I'm glad I was able to capture it. I have a large print of this photo hanging on the wall just above me now!
