Ledges Trail  Sucess!

Stopped at the Ledges for the nice view. There was snow covering the summit area.

Rattlesnake  Sucess!

I've been to the ledge many times but to the true summit just once.

Good Snowshoe  Sucess!

While there was snow in the parking lot, we didn't hit good snowshoeing conditions until just above the highest ledge. Plenty of powder to spare by the top. The few views to be had were clear. Not bad for March.

Can't see much  Sucess!

I was the only one on top today. The forest is really making a comeback. Hit snow right around the first abandoned road, but no gear was needed. I was a bit surprised the first time the radio inside the locked shed started crackling to life.

Had to do the traverse  Sucess!

Being the author of this page, I felt bad that I had only gotten to the summit of East Peak via the Ledge. When the opportunity came, I went with a group to do the entire traverse. Despite a 90 degree day there was still snow on the trail.

Cold, wet & windy  Sucess!

Hiked it with a couple girlfriends who didn't hike. The weather was crappy. Views, boring. Minimal exercise.

This Rattlesnake Had A Bite!!!  Sucess!

A "frostbite", that is... After approximately halfway between Rattlesnake Ledge and the East Peak summit, snow covered the ground from that point forward. I was not amazed at finding snow there, just at the depth of it. At least it was still walkable in my hiking shoes, without sinking. Other people were also making the snowy trek up the mountain, as well.

Lonely at the top  Sucess!

While there were tons of people down at the Ledge area, I was the only one at the East Peak summit area for quite awhile before two more hikers made it to where the wooden benches were set up. I did pass three others on the way down. Below the lowest ledge, I passed hundreds of people. Hundreds.....
