The Truchas group was clouded in, but Santa Fe Baldy was visible.
Day hiked from Jack's Creek on a nice sunny day with minimal wind. Great views of the Truchas Peaks from the summit.
I carried my son up, he was maybe 3 and kept standing up in the carrier and kicking me "Faster, Faster".
From jack's creek.
Camped by the lake and summited both peaks. Beautiful place.
From the trail head at Panchuela via the Dockweiler and Skyline trails. Super day hike with a more wilderness feeling than the Jack's Creek trail.
Awesome peak with some awesome views. Saw a few rams on the way up to the summit.
Hiked in from Jack's Creek in almost a full afternoon of rain. The skies suddenly cleared at 4:30pm. At 5:30pm we left our camp near Pecos Baldy Lake and summited at 6:30pm. It was a great, late summit...and the lighting was just beautiful. We didn't have the time to make the traverse to Pecos Baldy, but the ridge looks superb and I can't wait to come back and do it. Great day! 2nd ascent; 8-10-17.
Always a beautiful summit! Also made it in 2006 and 2010.
Climbed from the Jack's Creek trailhead via Pecos Baldy Lake on my big first trip west. This was a solo effort and made for a long day. Good weather but cold! Full winter gear required.
Hiked to the summit of East Pecos Baldy starting from Jacks Creek TH (third time on the summit since 2000). Traversed to Pecos Baldy and returned the same way. Nice hike, gorgeous day in Pecos!
