Approach

Follow trail to Eagle Lake. When you reach the lake cross Eagle Creek at the outlet and skirt the lake to the right and angle towards the prominent talus filled gully that climbs out of the lake basin. At the top of the gully angle right towards the top of an indistinct ridge. Follow ridge until buttress is visible. Route is at the far right end of the main face. It takes about an hour.

Route Description

Route is straight forwad and follows the ridge. There are many big ledges and the cruxes are easily protected. This route is an excellent intro to alpine style climbing in the sierra. Easy, fun climbing with outstanding views of the lake and surrounding formations.

Essential Gear
